Our Mission
Welcome to The Montessori Market! Join us as we realize the vision of Dr. Maria Montessori in an urban public high school where our mission is to help each other develop as thoughtful, intelligent, inclusive human spirits who contribute to the stewardship of our community and planet. The Montessori Market team strives to provide educational opportunities for students to experience entrepreneurship.
Our History
The Montessori Market began as the seed of an idea planted in 2017 and blossomed with our first community event in the spring of 2019. While the pandemic of 2020 paused our physical market events we are using this opportunity to demonstrate student creativity using virtual platforms such as the launch of our website! Get InvolvedOur Team
The Montessori Market is made possible by an amazing team of teachers, students, administrators, neighbors and community members. Our board officers include President Jason Banks, Secretary Anna Hill and Treasurer Mary Dudley. Our student leaders apply for specific positions within the nonprofit organization and fulfill their roles throughout the school year. Students choose which area of entrepreneurship they would like to experience in depth such as human resources, safety and regulations, finances, digital media and marketing. Students hold regular meetings to discuss challenges, identify solutions and plan for the future.

In 2020, The Montessori Market was recognized by the IRS as a registered 501(c)3 private foundation. We are proud to share our IRS Form 990s with interested members of our community.
